We’re building a supportive, independent society for the people making creative work happen in Kent. Designers, writers, filmmakers, photographers, strategists, developers, illustrators, agencies, freelancers and makers of every kind. KICS exists to champion, connect and celebrate those people.
Every day we’re producing work that helps businesses grow, that tells stories, solves problems and shapes our hometowns. KICS is where great work gets shown, warm connections are made, opportunities are shared, and creativity is seen as one of Kent’s greatest strengths.
Not through endless committees, or pay-to-play awards schemes. And not through a once-a-year event that everyone forgets about by Monday morning.
We’re here to build something that lasts. Where freelancers, creators, studios, agencies and collaborators can share their work, support each other, and help make Kent’s creative community more visible, more connected and more valued.
When creative people are seen, supported and valued, everyone benefits: Businesses discover talent on their doorstep. Young people can see a future for themselves here. Communities gain confidence in the people and ideas shaping the places they live.
That’s the kind of Kent we’d like to help build.
WHAT’S HAPPENING?
To kick us off, we’re planning a celebration of Kent creativity later this year. A short, joyful, non-traditional event designed to shine a light on brilliant work, interesting ideas and the people behind them, and to ask you, what you’d like KICS to do for you.
Ongoing, Kics aims to get people together through:
- A growing showcase of creative work from across Kent
- Talks, meet-ups and knowledge-sharing events
- Opportunities to connect with collaborators, clients and supporters
- Partnerships with schools, colleges and universities
- Stories, case studies and examples of creativity making a difference
